Great News for Graduates in Ontario

International graduates at Ontario's public universities can now have one more permanent immigration approach. The International Student of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) - Master and Ph.D. students reopened on February 21, 2017.

One of the most attractive features of OINP is that candidates do not need to get a job offer to qualify. In addition, candidates do not have to reside in Ontario at the time of application.

International Ph.D. Candidates may reside anywhere outside Canada; international master's graduate candidates may reside outside of Canada (however, they may not reside in other provinces outside Ontario, Canada).

Successful applicants for both programs will receive a “basic” provincial nomination certificate to enable them to submit a permanent residency application to the federal government.

Another popular OINP project, the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, was reopened on February 21. The program issues an interest notification to candidates in the Express Entry pool, where the personal data meets the requirements of the province.

The Ontario government has launched an online application system with the goal of making applications easier and improving customer service and processing time. Applicants for international master's and international doctoral programs need to submit their applications online by February 21.
